Chess Classic Elo Open

Schedule:
On-site registration: Thursday, 7/2/2013 from 14:00–15:00
9 rounds with one round a day from 7-15/2/2013 
Games start at 16:00 each day 
Awards ceremony: after the last round on 15/2/2013 at about 21:30

Registration deadline:
Registration is possible only by bank transfer of the entry fee.
All participants should register with the Tournament Director on 7/2 by 15:00 at the latest (even when pre-registered)! Otherwise a player will not be entitled to play in the first round. The number of participants in the tournament is limited to 80.

Rules:
9-round Swiss with automated pairings using Swiss-Manager or SwissChess, 2hr/40 moves + 30 min until the end of the game. The waiting time as per Point 6.6b of the FIDE regulations is 30 minutes.

Ratings:
The tournament will be FIDE Elo and DWZ rated.

Players:
The tournament is only open for players with an international Elo rating of above 1800.
The organisers can allocate up to five extra wild card places.

Entry fees:
GM/IMs free
FMs 60 EUR 
Players under Elo 2400: 80 EUR 
Players under Elo 2200: 100 EUR 
Players under Elo 2000: 120 EUR 
Classification is based on a player's rating on the day of registration.
The entry fee includes free admission to the GRENKE Chess Classic.

Prizes:
1st place: 2,000 EUR
2nd place: 1,000 EUR
3rd place: 700 EUR
4th place: 400 EUR
5th place: 300 EUR
6th place: 200 EUR
7th place: 100 EUR

Best U2400: 100 EUR
Best U2200: 100 EUR
Best U2000: 100 EUR

No double prizes. Prizes are based on the final standings. Tiebreaks: Score, Buchholz with worst result discarded, individual encounter. The special prizes (U2400, U2200, U2000) will be paid if there are at least 5 participants in a category.
Attendance of the closing ceremony is mandatory in order to receive prizes.

Registration:
The tournament is limited to 80 participants. The registration status will be updated online at this LINK after the entry fee has been received. If the 80 participant limit is reached the option to register will be closed and a waiting list opened.
